“In God We Trust”
"In God We Trust" is more that just a motto it is what we believe. We believe in God as the final authority! He is the creator of all things. “We (the people of the United States) hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness." Because God sent His Son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins we have the Liberty to choose the course we will pursue seeking Happiness in our lives.
The United States of America is here for a purpose. What is it? That we should show the world what it means to be a Christian Nation and follow God or that we should leave the world saying look what happens when you turn your back on God? The great American Seal was our forefathers way of telling all future generations of Americans what they believed.
The "glory" is representative of the light of the Spirit which always surrounds the observer's own shadow, when he walks with God and depends on Him for enlightenment. Thus, when "WE THE PEOPLE" as a nation depend on God, He will be our fortress.
Out of many peoples we shall become One Nation Under God Indivisible with Liberty and Justice for All.
But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him, on those whose hope is in his unfailing love
The United States of America provides the structure for individual development. It offers the opportunity for anyone to grow and prosper. Our government is based on the Christian Religion which recognizes that no man can force morality on another that free and independent thought is necessary for man to come to terms with God. That all men must eventually be held accountable for their own decisions and actions as they stand before the judgment seat of God.
The basis of the American legal system is the Judeo-Christian values found in the Bible, both the Hebrew and Christian Bible. Christians who founded America saw themselves as heirs to the Hebrew Bible using the Ten Commandments and its moral standards as the basis of the laws serving as a guide for the behavior of a secular society, but recognizing the need for the Christian Bible and the acceptance of Jesus Christ to provide the moral guidance for individuals to live in harmony. Thus, the Spirit of God is the true guiding light of the American culture sustaining our belief in universal, not relative, morality. God is part of our culture. Every individual and America as a nation must answer morally to this God.
Without teaching our heirs about the Christian Religion as the basis of the founding of our country we could never expect this experiment in the republican form of government to succeed, for without internal moral guidance the desire for pleasure becomes the controlling influence of individual behavior. We have the freedom and ability to vote for our legislature and leaders. This offers the opportunity for the elected officials to buy votes catering to this desire for pleasure.
Anarchy is when a few corrupt powerful elected officials are extending an unwarrantable jurisdiction over the rest of the nation. The passage of laws, executive orders providing benefits to specific groups of people and judicial interpretation of legal issues based on precedence without returning to the constraints of the Constitution result in unequal treatment for individuals which is not acceptable.
God commanded the fathers of our country as to the law they should follow and teach to their children that the generations to come might know, even the children yet to be born, that they might arise and tell them to their children. That as a Nation they should put their confidence in God, not forget all that He has done for this country but keep his commandments.
A decades long Global War of Terror is raging as Islamic sects fight for control of the USA and the world. It could very well determine the continued existence of the United States of America. "WE THE PEOPLE" must decide what our founding fathers meant by "Freedom of Religion". Could they have meant secular humanism "freedom from Religion" where anything goes or Islam the strictest cult known to man?
The USA continues to remove the Judeo-Christian biblical laws that define the nations existence from the court houses and embrace Sharia law. How much longer before we look like London in flames or one of the Stone Age countries of Islam?
My name sake Supreme Court Justice Joseph Story wondered if we could survive as a nation if we did not teach our children about religion (Specifically the Christian Religion) and morality as restraints upon the liberal sensual desires of freemen. He said:
"§ 1869. It yet remains a problem to be solved in human affairs, whether any free government can be permanent, where the public worship of God, and the support of religion, constitute no part of the policy or duty of the state in any assignable shape. The future experience of Christendom, and chiefly of the American states, must settle this problem, as yet new in the history of the world, abundant, as it has been, in experiments in the theory of government.
§ 1870. But the duty of supporting religion, and especially the Christian religion, is very different from the right to force the consciences of other men, or to punish them for worshipping God in the manner, which, they believe, their accountability to him requires. It has been truly said, that "religion or the duty we owe to our Creator, and the manner of discharging it, can be dictated only by reason and conviction, not by force or violence,"1 Mr. Locke himself, who did not doubt the right of government to interfere in matters of religion, and especially to encourage Christianity, at the same time has expressed his opinion of the right of private judgment, and liberty of conscience, in a manner becoming his character, as a sincere friend of civil and religious liberty. "No man, or society of men," says he, "have any authority to impose their opinions or interpretations on any other, the meanest Christian; since, in matters of religion, every man must know, and believe, and give an account for himself."2 The rights of conscience are, indeed, beyond the just reach of any human power. They are given by God, and cannot be encroached upon by human authority, without a criminal disobedience or, the precepts or natural, as well as o.r revealed religion.
§ 1871. The real object of the amendment was, not to countenance, much less to advance Mahometanism (or Islam which did not even get recognized), or Judaism, or infidelity, by prostrating Christianity; but to exclude all rivalry among Christian sects, and to prevent any national ecclesiastical establishment, which should give to an hierarchy the exclusive patronage of the national government. It thus cut off the means of religious persecution, (the vice and pest of former ages,) and of the subversion of the rights of conscience in matters of religion, which had been trampled upon almost from the days of the Apostles to the present age."
What did the first amendment mean by these words "prohibit the making of any law respecting an establishment of religion,(or) impeding the free exercise of religion", did they mean "Freedom of Religion" or "Freedom from Religion"? Have we forgotten what it means to be a Christian Nation? Through Love, God sent His son and all of those brave and unwavering Patriots that fought and died before us so that we might have the Freedom to worship as we desire, and to raise our families in Prosperity and Liberty.
God is faithful to keep His covenant and His loving-kindness to a thousandth generation with those that love Him and keep His commandments.
The nation is at war but what are we fighting for? Who are we fighting for? As individuals and as a nation we must define who we are and what we believe before our country is added to the dustbin of history as just another nation that turned its back on God and was destroyed as a result.
Every problem we face as a nation today is related to this total rejection of God. "TAKE ACTION", pray and let’s take this nation back, back to the Christian principles upon which it was founded that provide the freedoms we enjoy today.
In the words of Patrick Henry----"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship."
America must come together as a nation not of individual free men without a purpose beyond their own desires but as people focused on the need to create a unified immigrant nation of individuals with strong Christian morals and a system of law based on the 10 Commandments.
